A piece of fanart I've been wanting to do for Chaypeta for a couple of months, but have just been real scared to do. These are her characters Terinu and Varn from her comic book "Terinu" only in chibi form. I've never done any sort of shading, and have only colored real abstract stuff in Photoshop before.

This is just because Peta is an awesome and kind person and I really admire her attention to detail and artwork so very much. She has an awesome comic and I love her characters.

You know how I loved the line art for this... and finished in colour it looks great! You've done an excellent job with the cell shading. Placing the shadows to give the illusion of three dimensions is tricky but I think you've pulled it off well, particularly as you haven't done much along this line. Varn turned out well... a chibi Varn... who'd ever thought that he could look cute! And Teri's just adorable... I could hug him! (Love the style you've done his eyes in, those and his feet are my favourite parts.) Clever using the moon technique to make a little ball of bion.

nice job on the blue hair. you could make the whole image look more 3-dimentional by increasing the contrast between your lit and shaded areas. also, maybee if yoo added some highlights it might look pleasing (of course you'd want to keep the highlights on a separate layer so that you can remove them if they don't work) Your usual cleanliness works to your favor when applied to an animé style.
